Ninja Ranks and the Details for the Ranks.

Post by Kazuma Uchiha on Mon Jun 03, 2013 3:34 pm

There are approximately five available Ninja Ranks that members may create a character under. These ranks are as followed: Genin, Chūnin, Jōnin, ANBU and Kage. As of this moment the sixth rank which does not particularly fall under any particular class rank is unavailable due to not being needed with this forums current story and that is the Missing-nin Rank. The class for the Ninja Ranks are as followed: Genin (D-rank), Chūnin (C-rank), Jōnin (B-rank), ANBU (A-rank) and Kage (S-rank). Below will be a description and other important factors incorporated with the available ranks in this site.

Genin: Genin (下忍; Literally meaning "low ninja", Meaning "junior ninja") are the lowest level of ninja and also the ones that display the most difference in power. When they become genin, ninja start to do their bit for their village's economy being sent on missions that the village gets paid for. They are typically sent either on D-rank missions, which are almost entirely risk-free jobs of manual labour, or, rarely, on C-rank missions, which are a cut above that and begin to verge on real "ninja" work that have a very low possibility of risk to the ninja involved. When Konohagakure was short-handed on upper-level ninja because of the invasion, the village had to occasionally send genin on higher-ranked missions. Genin are put in four-man cells or squad, consisting of three genin and a jōnin-sensei, in order to learn teamwork and experience true ninja life under the supervision and protection of an elite shinobi. The make-up of these teams is based on the individual skills of the genin, so that there will be a balance between the teams.

Available Starting Techniques: Genin can have a maximum of four Jutsu at the start of character creation. They are obligated to have one E-rank Technique, two D-rank Techniques and one C-rank Technique at the start of character creation. If the Ninja is a Senju Clan member than they may have two D-rank techniques and two C-rank Techniques upon character creation.

Starting Chakra: Genin start with approximately 100 Chakra upon character creation.

Chūnin: Chūnin (中忍; Literally meaning "Middle Ninja", Meaning "Journeyman Ninja") are ninja who are qualified to guide other ninja and lead missions. Chūnin have reached a level of maturity and ability that primarily consists of leadership skills and tactical prowess. Genin who do not have the skills to become chūnin are weeded out in the chūnin exams. Some of them, like Iruka Umino, Daikoku Funeno and Suzume move on to function as Academy teachers and others, like Shikamaru Nara, serve as team leaders in charge of small teams who need to make decisions and utilise the skills of the shinobi under their command to the maximum effect. Chūnin are typically sent on C-rank or B-rank missions. To become a chūnin, a genin participates in a large examination, known as the "Chūnin Exams".

Available Starting Techniques: Chūnin can have a maximum of eight Jutsu at the start of character creation. They are obligated to have four C-rank Techniques and two B-rank Techniques at the start of character creation. If the Ninja is a Senju Clan member than they may have three C-rank Techniques and three B-rank Techniques upon character creation.

Starting Chakra: Chūnin start with approximately 200 Chakra upon character creation.

Jōnin: Jōnin (上忍, Jōnin; Literally meaning "High Ninja", Meaning "Elite Ninja") are generally highly-experienced shinobi with great individual skill who serve as military captains. They are often sent on A-rank missions, and experienced jōnin may even be sent on S-rank missions (which are considered to be the greatest difficulty). It is not unusual for jōnin to go on missions alone. Jōnin are generally able to use at least two types of elemental chakra, some genjutsu, and above average taijutsu skills. When a ninja becomes a jōnin, they may be assigned a three-man genin team to supervise. One part of their duties is to help instruct and train these genin to become competent ninja.

Available Starting Techniques: Jōnin can have a maximum of twelve Jutsu at the start of character creation. They are obligated to have four B-rank techniques and two A-rank techniques at the start of character creation. If the Ninja is a Senju Clan member than they may have five B-rank techniques and three A-rank techniques upon character creation.

Starting Chakra: Jōnin start with approximately 300 Chakra upon character creation.

ANBU (S-rank Jōnin: The ANBU (暗部; "ANBU Black Ops"; Literally meaning "Dark Side"), short for Ansatsu Senjutsu Tokushu Butai (暗殺戦術特殊部隊; Literally meaning "Special Assassination and Tactical Squad"), take orders directly from the Kage, performing special high-level missions, such as assassinations and torture. The ANBU usually work in teams formed to the requirements of the mission, ensuring maximum success. The shinobi in the ANBU are hand-picked by the Kage; chosen for their individual capabilities and special skills. Age, gender, background, or previous rank bear no weight in this decision. Members can also leave the organization to return to the regular forces. They wear their mask even in their own village, for their identity as an ANBU agent is to be known only by the Kage and village elders.

Available Starting Techniques: ANBU can have a maximum of sixteen Jutsu at the start of character creation. They are obligated to have eight B-rank techniques, six A-rank techniques and one S-rank technique at the start of character creation. If the Ninja is a Senju Clan member than they may have ten B-rank techniques, eight A-rank techniques and two S-rank techniques upon character creation.

Starting Chakra: ANBU start with approximately 400 Chakra upon character creation.

Kage: A Kage (影; Literally meaning "Shadow") is the leader of one of the five most powerful hidden villages and are generally acknowledged as the most powerful ninja in their respective villages. They are collectively known as the Five Kage (五影, Gokage; Literally meaning "Five Shadows").

Available Starting Techniques: Kage can have a maximum of twenty Jutsu at the start of character creation. They are obligated to have eight A-rank techniques and three S-rank techniques at the start of character creation. If the Ninja is a Senju Clan member than they may have ten A-rank techniques and four S-rank techniques upon character creation.

Starting Chakra: Kage start with approximately 500 Chakra upon character creation.

NOTE: Some clans enable a permanent additional Chakra Bonus. Refer to the Clans in 'Clan Creation.
